About Marwood |
Located
on a south facing wooded hillside overlooking the Esk Valley, Marwood is
in an idyllic setting, sheltered by woodland and fields on the edge of
the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Visitors may even catch a
glimpse of Deer, Owls and foxes - all regular visitors (to the garden,
not the B&B)!The original
Yorkshire stone house has been extended and added to over the years to
create a large private guest suite complete with en-suite bathrooms and
ample parking. Guests have their own access to the rooms allowing them
to come and go as they please. A large lounge provides the opportunity to
relax on an evening or enjoy the summer sun on the front patio. Sun
patios are also provided adjacent to the guest suites. Visitors can
enjoy their breakfast overlooking the gardens to the front of the house.
Continental and Full English breakfasts (including vegetarian options) are
always available. The village of Sleights is
close by offering a village shop, public house, and a chance to sample
the delights of Whitby fish and chips. Those who don't wish to drive
have the choice of the Esk valley bus routes and the Whitby &
Middlesbrough Railway line. At nearby Ruswarp you can journey on
a miniature railway, go boating on the Esk and enjoy a cream tea whilst
feeding the ducks. Due to the steep nature of the surroundings,
access may not be suitable for some wheelchair users, Visitors are
advised to enquire before booking. Details on the
Contact page. |
